Cross-country skiing is a less rigorous version of skiing where the challenge of a hill is eliminated. It’s a fun, easy way to get out into the woods in winter without the crazy costs and long lines. We recommend getting gear (especially if needed overnight) from Diamond Peak Sports.
Ogden Nordic at North Fork Park offers both skate skiing and classic cross-country skiing. It is $6 to have access to trails and rentals are available when the shop is open. Skate skis are $15 each day and classic skis are $10. There’s more adventures to be had at Ogden Nordic during the winter with snowshoeing and fat tire biking as well!
Snowbasin also offers many nordic trails for no cost to you. Rentals are available in the Grizzly Center and the trails begin in the Maples parking lot where a shuttle to the Earl’s Lodge continually runs. You can enjoy 26 miles of groomed trails that are also open to snowshoers.
