A Tribute to Warren Miller

Born in 1924, legendary skiing icon and filmmaker Warren Miller died Wednesday night, January 24 at his home in Orcas Island, Washington. He was 93.

Miller’s passion for telling stories about outdoor sports lead to the creation of over 500 films in that genre. His ski movies are how most people identify him, and because of the popularity of those movies, he is largely responsible for the sport of skiing becoming mainstream.
Miller had a keen understanding that in order to make great ski movies, you also have to tell a compelling story and mix in a healthy dose of humor and insight.
