Huntsville Town’s unique ice skating rink tradition originated in the 1960’s when a man named “Blondie” Peterson began flooding the tennis courts to create an ice rink. Throughout the years, the location of the ice rink changed many times until it ultimately came upon its current location at Huntsville Park. Now, dozens of volunteers gather every year to ensure that the rink is well-maintained by our version of a Zamboni (a tractor with a sweeper). Ice skate rentals are typically available Tuesday through Saturday but may not always be there. Updated information is kept on Huntsville Town’s website.
