The universe is at your fingertips when you visit the Clark Planetarium in downtown Salt Lake City. There are tons of free interactive exhibits that allow you to explore some of the wonders of our world and far beyond. In addition to these incredible exhibits (some of which are actually from space) there are two theatres. The IMAX theatre shows many 3D shows about Earth and space and the dome theatre is just that, a giant dome. There is a wide variety of movies shown in both, so check out showtimes on the website.

Museum of Ancient Life
Just outside of Salt Lake City sits Thanksgiving Point, a treasure in the state of Utah. One of its greatest assets is the Museum of Ancient Life, featuring 60 complete dinosaur skeletons, themed rooms, and over 50 interactive displays. There is also a full size paleontology lab where scientists are currently working on uncovering real dinosaur bones. The junior paleontology lab allows children to cast and mold their own “dinosaur bones” to take home.
This unique 40,000 square foot venue houses over 1,000 butterflies from all over the world. In addition, there are 20 species of tarantulas, enormous beetles, and tons of other creepy crawly critters. Buy tickets online to ensure a slot!
Museum of Natural Curiosity
With 400 interactive experiences, it’s easy to see why this museum is a favorite among locals. Explore ancient ruins, climb in a 45-foot-tall monkey head, experiment with the natural elements, discover Discovery Garden, or even take a class!
For a real hands-on experience with both farm animals and some exotic animals alike, head over to Farm Country. You can feed, milk, and pet animals such as cows, goats, sheep, chickens, horses, pigs, alpacas, llamas, and even peacocks. It’s a real working farm that is dedicated to education and of course, fun!
