Participants will join HawkWatch International scientists in the field to search for and, if conditions permit, safely capture Flammulated Owls using mist nets. This nocturnal adventure provides insights into the owls’ migration patterns, habitat preferences, and the research methods employed to study these small, elusive raptors.
The evening begins with a gathering at the historic Shooting Star Saloon, followed by transportation to Snowbasin Ski Resort. There, under the guidance of experienced ornithologists, attendees will engage in the search for Flammulated Owls, learning about their behaviors and the challenges they face in the wild. Group size is limited to 10 participants for an intimate experience.

SnowWiesn Oktoberfest is Snowbasin Resort’s annual alpine celebration of Bavarian culture, typically held on weekends from late-August through early October. The event features live music, German-inspired cuisine, and a festive atmosphere set against the stunning backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the Oktoberfest spirit by donning traditional Bavarian attire. For those looking to dress the part, options include authentic lederhosen for men and dirndl dresses for women. Huntsville Marathon

The Huntsville Marathon, affectionately known as The Full Monte, is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Huntsville, Utah.
