A prominent 80 year old feature feature is a pair of large Fremont cottonwood trees situated in the middle of the first fairway.

Ben Lomond Golf Course is a challenging 18 hole golf course located north of Ogden below the majestic Lewis Peak. The golf course is known for its flat, friendly fairways, small greens and accommodating atmosphere. There are panoramic views of Ben Lomond Peak from all points on the course, as well as Lewis Peak and Mt. Ogden Peak. The small push up greens are more difficult to hit and require accuracy for a good score.
South Ogden – 13.7 miles from Huntsville
Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of Mt. Ogden and Ben Lomond in the greater Ogden area sits one of the most well maintained golf courses in the state. The Ogden Golf and Country Club is the second oldest club in the state of Utah and is rich in its golf traditions. The course has hosted many prestigious professional and amateur events, including the Utah Open, the Utah State Amateur, Junior America’s Cup, and the Utah LPGA Title in 1964. The original 9 holes were designed and built in 1914 by local golf enthusiasts who identified Ogden as a premier location for Ogden Golf and Country Club. With Ben Lomond and Mt. Ogden as the mountain backdrop, they couldn’t go wrong. Ernie Schneiter Sr., the golf professional for 19 years, designed the current front nine holes which were added to the course in 1948. North Ogden – 15.6 miles from Huntsville
Touted as the number one place to golf in the Ogden area, The Barn Golf Club is a privately owned and family operated golf course in the shadows of the towering Ben Lomond Peak. The Barn offers 18 beautiful holes that overlook the valley and adjacent mountain summits of Lewis Peak and Mount Ogden. The facility also provides 2 practice greens, a driving range, a full service snack bar and a well stocked pro shop full of top brand name merchandise. Located in Pleasant View, The Barn itself houses a banquet facility and a sports pub which includes big screen TV’s. In addition, adjacent to the Barn is and elegant Patio pavilion that is perfect for tournament luncheons, weddings and receptions.
Farr West – 18 miles from Huntsville
Founded in 2005, this full sized, par 72 regulation course is one of Utah’s newest courses. Named after the old western word for “corral of working horses,” the professional staff don’t mind being called the work horses of golf. Remuda was envisioned by Keith Downs (1931-2003), offering wide open fairways and modern oversized greens. Remuda golfers experience the freedom of driving tee shots as far as possible, much like cowboys driving cattle across an endless prairie. Keith designed a golf course that would allow golfer’s of all abilities to accurately play the game and gauge their skills without the course needlessly punishing good shots. Every hole has a unique name and a unique playing challenge that will keep golfers coming back for more
Riverdale – 22.5 miles from Huntsville
Known for it’s tall trees and tight fairways, Schneiter’s Riverside is one of two with it’s founder’s namesake and one of the area’s most popular courses for golfers of all skill levels. The course is located in Riverdale, Utah, and features an 18 hole, par 71 full service golf facility complete with a driving range, snack bar, banquet facilities, corporate outings, and PGA golf instruction. The site is conveniently situated near the junction of I-84, I-15 and Riverdale Rd. with all of the shopping and dining imaginable.

Located high on the north east end of Layton, Sun Hills Golf Course feathers a challenging and fun 18-hole course, with views that extend to the west over the active runway at Hill Air Force Base. The facility offers a huge practice area with three practice greens, a full length grass tee driving range, practice bunker and much more. The course was built in 1995 and designed by well known Utah Pro Bruce Summerhayes. Sun Hills is a links style course designed to accommodate all levels of play. The fairways weave their way over natural rolling hills and are designed to take advantage of the natural flow of the land with varying terrain and challenging holes. Farmington – 27 miles from Huntsville
This exclusive private course located in Farmington features pristine fairways lined with mature trees with spectacular views of the Wasatch Mountains. The 18-hole course was designed by William F. Bell and William Neff. The course offers traditional architecture with generally flat or tilted greens. There is very little mounding used for the putting surfaces. There are several holes with water hazards and most greens are well bunkered. To find success at Oakridge, a player must drive the ball straight and be reasonably long in distance. The par 3s are all strong, with a nice variety of par 4s, but the par 5s are there to be taken advantage of with a strong long game.
Clinton 28.9 miles from Huntsville
These 18 holes are are young but full of energy. This is one of Utah’s newest courses and promises to be a popular local destination. The course is open with few trees, but don’t get lulled into an overly relaxed state by the scenery and wildlife. This course was not designed to steal your lunch, but you could get roughed up by the native wetland features if you’re not hitting straight like a Boy Scout. Oversized drivers are welcome but the precision instruments are equally important. Come check out the new greens, driving range, and beautiful clubhouse at this up and coming local gem.
