Christmas Lights Schedule

 
The most wonderful time of the year is almost here, and one of the most anticipated events is the lighting of the Christmas lights on Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City! They go on the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 23) to kick off the holiday season. The lights bring people from all over the world so it’s a fun and bustling time here! To make the most of your experience, here are a few tips to help you plan your Temple Square visit.

Even though you can see Christmas lights all around the downtown area, the main attraction is Temple Square. The Christmas lights turn on every day at 5:30 p.m. (or whenever it gets dark) and stay on until 10:00 p.m. On December 13, 2018 – December 15, 2018 (8:00 pm – 9:30 pm), the lights will stay on until 11:00 p.m. due to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas concerts and until 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.
