Ogden Twilight Concerts – Iron & Wine and Calexico

The Ogden Twilight Concerts present a night full of beautiful music from award winning artists Iron & Wine and Calexico. Iron & Wine is composed of American singer-songwriter Samuel Ervin Beam. With six studio albums, several EPs and singles, and even a few download-only releases, it’s clear to see how he’s made a name for himself. Though he’s primarily a solo artist, he occasionally tours with a full band. His unique name actually comes from a dietary supplement called “Beef, Iron, and Wine” that he found in a general store while shooting a film.
Calexico hails from Arizona and prides themselves on combining elements of indie, rock, Tex-Mex, and even mariachi influence. The two main members of the band, Joey Burns and John Convertino, came together in another band called “Giant Sand.” The coolest part? These two bands have recorded together already!
