1. A Weekend of Wanderlust – BANFF 2019
Valentine’s Day may fall on a Thursday, but there’s no reason the celebration of love can’t continue on into the weekend! The 2019 BANFF Mountain Film Festival will take place from February 15 through February 17th with three nights of awe-inspiring films. Ignite your passion for adventure with the one you love and get inspired to explore the local outdoors in Ogden Valley.
2. I Love You Snow Much – Ski Snowbasin or Pow Mow
Head for the hills and shred the slopes at Snowbasin or Powder Mountain ski resorts. Is there anything more romantic than glistening white powder, panoramic mountain views, and luxury lodges (with delicious food)? The ambiance of winter in Ogden Valley provides an intimate and secluded setting, perfect for people who love skiing (and one another)!
3. Wined and Dined – Rovali’s Italian Restaurant
February 14th, 15th, and 16th, Rovali’s Italian Restaurant will be celebrating love in the most beautiful way possible: with food. Enjoy finely crafted entrees such as beef scallopini, seafood alfredo, eggplant parmesan, and baked chicken marsala. Pair this with an organic wine from Tuscany called “When We Dance” made from blackberries, figs, cherries, and herbs (or a house cocktail) for the perfect palette cleanser. Finish the meal off with a Valentine’s dessert for two. The mouth-watering treats are even sweeter when sharing them with a sweetheart!
4. Intimate Adventure – Snowshoe Ogden Valley
Ready for something a little more personal than dinner and a movie this Valentine’s Day? Grab your partner and head for the mountains for a little winter hiking. There are trails throughout Huntsville, Eden, and Liberty that are perfect for an audacious afternoon surrounded by incredible scenery. Check out our favorite snowshoeing trails here.
5. One Thing Sled to Another – Sledding in Ogden Valley
Being in a valley has some advantages, such as the wickedly fun sledding hills throughout the area. The Art Nord trailhead has terrain that’s terrific for sledding and tubing. At the end of Old Snowbasin Road is the easily accessible hill of a lifetime. It may be a bit of a hike back to the top, but the ride down is exhilarating. Nordic Valley Ski Resort has a nearby tubing hill, and though it includes a fee, the towing cable makes it well worth it. Trapper’s Loop is a favorite among locals, the hill practically rises to the sky just minutes from our Huntsville, Utah lodging.
6. Eat, Drink, and Be Cozy – Luxury Lodging in the Mountains
After a weekend full of food, fun, and romance, settle into a home away from home. Snuggle by the fireplace or soothe sore muscles in a private hot tub. Enjoy all of the comforts of home in a luxury vacation rental with breathtaking views in every direction. Every good winter vacation includes skiing, luckily most of our properties are just minutes away from the mountain, so it’s the perfect Snowbasin Lodging. As a bonus, you won’t have to drive. We’ll transport you and your gear to and from the mountain free of charge! Make your weekend even more romantic by hiring a private masseuse for a relaxing couples massage while a private chef prepares a gourmet meal right in your vacation rental.
